WHO WE ARE
Fr. Matthias Deslauriers, O.Carm.
The Carmelite Friars Development Center was established by the Carmelite Friars, the North American Province of St. Elias, under the direction of Fr. Matthias DesLauriers, O.Carm. and Fr. John Horan O.Carm. to promote Carmelite spirituality, prayer, and Marian devotion while supporting the mission of the Carmelite Order in the United States.

Rooted in the Irish heritage and inspired by our century-long history, we focus on engaging faithful benefactors in advancing vital initiatives such as the formation of new friars, care for retired members, growth of the Province's new foundations, and the enhancement of the National Shrine of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.

Through the generosity of our benefactors, we continue to build God's Kingdom by being united in prayer and mission, and bringing the Carmelite charism to the world.
